What lessons can be learned from a winter turnip?
Here’s
one old winter turnip tale that reminds us how easily - with the help of others - a goal can be accomplished. Not just
in winter, but year ‘round.
We
wish you a memorable winter season with plenty of hands on deck to help you
when you need it most.
Pulling a Winter Turnip Out of the Ground
Once
an old Polish man planted a turnip that grew to be very big. When winter came,
he tried to pull it out of the ground but couldn’t. So, he called his wife to help.
She
grabbed her husband who held the turnip and together they pulled but with no
success. So, she called their granddaughter to help.
The
granddaughter grabbed her grandmother who was holding onto the old man.
Together they pulled and pulled, but the turnip was too big and heavy for them
to move. So the granddaughter called over the dog.
The dog grabbed the granddaughter who was holding onto the grandmother who was holding onto the old man who was holding the turnip. They couldn’t pull it out so the dog called over the cat.

The
cat grabbed the dog that was holding the granddaughter who was holding onto the
grandmother who was holding onto the old man who was holding the turnip. They
were unable to pull it out of the ground. So, the cat called over the mouse.
The
mouse grabbed the cat that was holding the dog that was holding the
granddaughter who was holding onto the grandmother who was holding onto the old
man who was holding the turnip. After pulling and pulling they finally got the
large turnip out of the ground.
