Piaf in Petaluma

Tribute to

 La Mome Piaf

Who better than Due Zighi Baci (Two Gypsy Kisses) can bring the memory of France's Edith Piaf to life?
This performance celebrates  a French singer who became widely regarded as France's national diva.
Known for the depth of feeling  she brought to French Chanson (ballads) of love, loss, and sorrow, she was also one of France's greatest international stars.
From her first public appearance in 1929 at the age of 14 until her early death at the age of 42, she was a musical icon.

Many of the songs she made famous appeared in a variety of films, including Saving Private Ryan, Inception, and the animated film, Madagascar 3 .
Among the films and plays that were based upon her life were: "Piaf Piaf" (1988) and "The Sparrow and the Birdman".

Due Zighi Baci members Michael Van Why, tenor, Sheri Mignano, accordion, and special guests have performed in various Bay Area venues, including Café Trieste (San Francisco), Italian Street Painting Festival (San Rafael), Robert Mondavi Winery (Napa), and Festa Italiana (Santa Rosa).
