Water Consultant J. Dietrich Stroeh talks with Dr. Theo Tsoukalas in a new
three-part Novato Community Television series about a variety of global climate
change issues that have a direct impact upon Marin County. The program, Global
Climate Change in Marin, runs through May 30, 2016 on Comcast Channel 26 in
Novato, and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99 in Novato.
J. Dietrich “Diet” Stroeh, an engineer by
trade, managed the Marin Municipal Water District in the midst of one of the
worst droughts on record. That experience was the basis for his first book, The Man Who Made it Rain, co-written
with Michael McCarthy.
He will be talking about the history,
politics and the policies that have shaped current climate change concerns and
what has been and can still be done on the local level to mitigate the adverse
effects, locally as well as regionally.
Stroeh
who is also a water consultant for the Sonoma County Water Agency is a Director
of the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District and serves on the California
Earthquake Authority.
His
credits also include a second book, Three Months: A Caregiving Journey from Heartbreak to Healing (FolkHeart Press) and two e-books that provide caregiving
tips and resources.
Global Climate Change Marin Host
Dr.
Theo Tsoukalas is Program Director/Principal Investigator, Public Health Institute
and Evergreen Leaders Project Research Scientist.
He
has served as a consulting scientist to several US state and local
jurisdictions in the area of disease prevention policy design, implementation,
and evaluation and as a consulting scientist to the World Health Organization.
